DG Contact organised JAG/Bambir concert in Paris (in AGBU Event Hall) in partnership with the Armenian General Benevolent Union Paris and Ministry of Culture of Armenia as part of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.
Jag (Gagik Barseghian) has founded the folk-rock group “Bambir” in the 1970s in Armenia.
Gagik Barseghian is the author of the songs that have been performed at the concert in Paris. Jag’s lyrics are often inspired by Hovhannes Tumanyan’s (the Armenian National poet) poetry and by Armenian traditional songs. Jag is very well known in the US, in England and Scotland. His music is a nice mix of Armenian and Scottish musical heritage.
The latest album titled “Armenian Scotch” was released in 2010 (registered in Armenia and the USA). It is dedicated to the two major Armenian and Scottish poets, Hovhannes Tumanyan and Robert Burns. See photos
